Shots Fired

The Carlisle Police Department has identified the perpetrator involved in the Saturday April 21, 2007, shots fired incident at "The Depot," a Dickinson College entertainment facility.
John W. Balkcom Jr. was identified as the subject who fired 4 shots in the parking lot of the Depot during a rap contest.
The police investigation into the incident revealed that Balkcom became upset when a group of Dickinson College students left the event as his group was preparing to perform and while confronting them, he produced a firearm and fired the shots.
No one was injured during the incident and the Carlisle Police Department is seeking the public's help in locating Balkcom.
Balkcom's last known address is in the Enola area, however police believe he could be located anywhere in the greater Harrisburg area.
Carlisle Police were assisted in the investigation by the Dickinson College Public Safety Department.
Balkcom is being sought for the following charges:
- Recklessly Endangering another person
- Terroristic Threats
- Carry a firearm w/o a license
- Causing a catastrohe
- Former convict not to possess a firearm
- Disorderly Conduct
