Patrol Officers
The Carlisle Police Department currently consists of 26 patrol officers. Officers routinely perform law enforcement and crime prevention work; control traffic flow and enforce state and local traffic regulations; perform investigative work; participate in and provide support and assistance to special department crime prevention and enforcement programs; and perform related duties assigned.
The majority of assignments patrol officers receive are through calls/requests from the public to assist at incidents such as criminal activity, domestic disputes, fires and public disorder. While not on an assignment, Officers routinely patrol the borough either by car, foot, or bike.
Patrol Officers’ duties on a daily basis include developing and executing investigations, finding and collecting evidence, determining if a crime has been committed and if there is enough evidence to arrest an individual, and courtroom testimony to ensure offenders are prosecuted effectively.
